The Kid's Got Talent


Does your family watch America's Got Talent and think "that could be one of us?"

After the success of our new family programming at Comedy Works South at the Landmark, we are pleased to announce our latest and most exciting event, "The Kid's Got Talent", a search for Colorado's most talented kids.

This competition encourages kids up to age 17 to show off their natural talent in Music, Dance, Song, Comedy, Magic and Cool Tricks! We are looking for that OMG! Factor.

If you think your "Kid's got Talent", post your video online on a video hosting site like Youtube.com. You can then simply submit the link to us by using the form at the bottom of this page.

All solo, duos, and groups are welcome! A limited number of applications will be accepted to perform on stage LIVE at Comedy Works South.

How to Enter:

In order to qualify for participation in the contest, beginning on Monday, April 9, 2012, any eligible person or group can submit a performance link to us by using the form at the bottom of this page. All entries must be in NO LATER THAN Monday, May 7, 2012 at 6:00pm MST.

By registering on the Contest site and submitting your video, you agree to be bound by the Comedy Works official rules below.

If your submission is selected, you will be notified by Friday, May 18th at 6:00pm MST. Preliminary rounds will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 13 and 20 at 7pm. You will need to be available on one of those dates. However, you must be available for our Competition on Wednesday, June 27 at 7pm MST.

If you are chosen to perform, there will be a $20 registration processing fee per act/performance. Additional paperwork including all applicable parental consents due by Wednesday, May 30 at 5:00 pm MST. You will also receive 4 free tickets to each of the performances per act/performance. Additional tickets are available for purchase at $10 for adult, $5 for ages 17 and under.

Submission criteria:

All music must be provided by talent on a CD for live performances that day at least one hour before the show. Content must be no longer than three minutes in length. No violent or dangerous stunts, profanity, or obscene/offensive material or sexually suggestive. No fire or pyrotechnics.

Prizes awarded to the winners of the competition:

1st place - $500
2nd place - $250
3rd place - $100

Judging:

Our panel of judges for the audition, preliminary and final rounds will consist of industry insiders chosen by Comedy Works for their expertise as agents, publicists, singers, acting coaches, etc. Contestants will be judged on their talent, performance and star quality. All judge's decisions are final!

At the end of each preliminary round, the top three contestants are announced and will be guaranteed to perform in the competition. We will also choose one alternate who may be called upon in the event a "finalist" is unavailable.

Performances:

No performance is to exceed 3 minutes. You will be disqualified if you go over.
Material for show needs to match the content of your audition.
You must bring all your own music, props, and any instruments other than a piano. A microphone, piano and PA system will be available.

Ticket Prices to performances:

$10 - adult
$5 - kids 17 and under
Free - kids 5 and under
Two item minimum, food or beverage

Rules:

No relatives of any Comedy Works employees are eligible.
The sequencing of the acts is at the sole discretion of Comedy Works. All judge's decisions are final.
Deadline for all submissions is Monday, May 7th, 2012 at 6:00pm MST.
